Background[]

Eld Engrim appears to be in sound condition, though his waxed jacket is soaked through. He appraises you with bleary-eyed amusement.

A deck hand reeking of rum, Eld Engrim is a veteran of the seas, together with all the usual accouterments: A smile lacking teeth, balding head, waxed jacket... Of note is the fact that he's apparently an acquaintance of Durance.

- Watcher: "The flames reveal all in time, brother."
If Durance was recruited, but was killed or you didn't convince him of Magran and Woedica's plot:
- Watcher: "The last Magranite to travel with me wasn't quite up to the goddess' challenge."
- Engrim: "Aye. Poor Durance. May the mad whoreson see better days come the next turn of the Wheel."
If Durance was recruited, wasn't killed, and you convinced him of Magran and Woedica's plot:
- Watcher: "The last Magranite to travel with me almost went mad because of his goddess' trials."
- Engrim: "Aye, but almost mad ain't fully mad. Ah, Old Durance. The goddess shan't forge another like him in our lives, captain."

If Vela is present

Vela: "Can we go back on the ship now?"
Vela rocks back on the heels of her feet, watching you both.
Watcher: "Vela, don't let Engrim be a bad influence while I'm gone."
Eld Engrim: "That's unkind. Yer the one decided to pluck this wean from the wilds of Eir Glanfath. Blame that stone steward of yers for bringing the furry maid along."
If the Watcher is an orlan
- Eld Engrim: "Eh... no slight to yer kind, of course, captain."
  He chuckles and nods in your direction.
Vela: "Uncle Engrim, you promised me ale."
Eld Engrim: "Later, sweetie. Uncle Engrim's thirsty, too."
He absentmindedly taps on his chest, near his heart, sounding the thunk of something metal beneath the priest's jacket.

Banter with Irrena upon approaching the campfire:

Eld Engrim: "I'll boil up some water. We'll have a spy at that leg of yers."
Irrena: "Should have seen me with that barrel, Engrim. I showed it who's boss."
Eld Engrim: "Mm. Magran gives some of us simpler trials than others."

Eld Engrim: "Should have known you'd come out of this in one piece, you old crank."
Beodul: "I'd rather die than let ye savor the ship's last drop of ale."

Eld Engrim: "May be time to wrangle a boar, afore the weakness of hunger sets in."
Vela: "Boars are mean!"
Eld Engrim: "Aye, maid, but I'm hungrier than they are mean."
