Pillars of Eternity Wiki

In response to patch v1. to Pillars of Eternity (June 6, 2024), the random loot tables shown on the wiki have been updated. These changes may take time to propegate.

As a result, random loot data is no longer accurate to old versions of the game, including all console ports. We'll be working to provide a mechanism to switch between pre-patch and post-patch loot for console players.

Emerald Stair is a lush semi-mountainous region in the Living Lands in Avowed. A town sits atop a hill near the center of the area. The Stair is notable for the arcane devices that dot the pathways and hillsides surrounding the town, soul-essence based contraptions created by the animancers in Fior, which at night give off a mysterious and eerie purple glow.

Background[ | ]

Emerald Stair was settled by expatriates from the Vailian Republics, and is home to many animancers, practitioners and scholars of soul sciences.

Some of the farms in the Stair are constructed as terraces due to the terain, consisting of stepped platforms cut into the hillside. These farms are assisted by a number of devices created by the animancers, which are strung throughout the terraces. These devices work by concentrating and supercharging soul essences, which radiates and is infused into the plants and soil. This approach to cultivation accelerates crop growth and improves their overall quality.[1]
