Godansthunyr is a unique war hammer in Pillars of Eternity.
Description[ | ]
Forged by a master smith of the Knights of the Crucible, Godansthunyr ("Gods' Thunder") saw greatest use during the War of Defiance. Dedicated to Abydon and inscribed with his holy symbol, the hammer held devastating power and could leave foes senseless with a single blow. In the thick of battle, warriors would often claim to hear thunderous explosions and witness blinding flashes of light. Many believed the gods themselves disapproved of the fighting and were voicing their displeasure.

Notes[ | ]
- Since all passive effects from weapons stack in Pillars of Eternity, the Of Might 1 enchantment on Godansthunyr has the uncommon property of stacking with might bonuses from other items, e.g. armor.[1]
- Godansthunyr is one of the four unique weapons with increased interrupt rating (apart from morning stars, which receive it as their weapon bonus). This unique bonus makes Godansthunyr an extremely valuable item, as the increased interrupt distorts the balance between weapon attack speed and its interrupt time, shifting it in favour of the attacker. This can potentially lead to interrupt-locking the enemy – which is even easier to achieve with Godansthunyr's Stunning enchantment!
