The Inventory represents your party's earthly possessions and their ability to access or equip them i.e. making those items worn or wielded in personal equipment slots, carry them in shared-party inventory packs or stash them away.


When you acquire new gear, you have the option of placing it wherever you'd like as long as there's room for it, deciding who carries what is an important aspect of inventory management. You can equip it, use it immediately, put it in your pack, or just chuck it in the stash.[1]

Equipment slots[]

Equipped slots show what your character is currently wearing, wielding and in-hand ready to use. This includes weapon sets, that you can swap between during combat [1] and slots for consumables. Each character starts with two weapon sets they can access in combat.[2] Each party member has his own equipment slots. Each slot can hold only one item at a time, and items can be placed in only certain slots, depending on the type of item.

  • Neck – used for capes, cloaks and amulets.[3]
  • Ring – two slots used for rings.[3]
  • Weapon Sets – used to equip weapons.
  • Quick Item Slots – for consumables you want to use during combat.[3]
  • Grimoire Slot – only for wizards and is used for grimoires you want to use during combat.[3]
  • Pet Slot – only for the player and is used for pets.

All characters start with two weapon sets (four weapons, total). The secondary set is always shown equipped on the character unless the weapons would go on the back and the character is wearing a cloak/cape.

With the exception of rings, the effects of equipped items do not stack with spell effects.[5]

Shared party inventory[]

Packs / personal inventory[]

Player packs are used to carry essential items that are not equipped. The packs are accessible by all party members, at any time, except in combat. It presents itself as a strategic pool of items, that you can access while exploring.[1] Every party member has his or her own pack marked as "theirs" on the shared inventory screen, even though it's effectively a common pool of items.[6] The number of pack slots available to each character is sixteen, and any additional items must be stored in the stash. Each item or stack of one item takes a single pack slot (as in the Infinity Engine games). If one item can stack and the amount of items that stack together depends on the item type, "big" things (weapons, armor etc.) can't be stacked at all, with potions and other small things allowing big stacks.[7]


The stash is where items that don't get regular use can be stored. The stash can be accessed for deposits at any time, but if players play with an option or expert Mode activated you can only retrieve items from the stash when they are at certain locations during their adventure, where they can rest, such as Campsite, your home, merchant, cities and similar locations. The stash is effectively unlimited in size [6]
