South of the Sanctum island is another large desert region
- Cavern of Xaur Tuk-Tuk: Main location in this area, a small cave where you can free Mother Sharp-Rock, and get the shield Shimmer Scale in the process.

- Howling Gorge: The first obstacle in moving inland is the Howling Gorge, full of odd shouts and whistles. You can use Perception 13 or Cipher talents to identify the sounds. Move deeper into the canyon to find out it's a bunch of xaurips with a drake. You can observe a devouring ceremony, then attack.

- Broken Spear Pass: The pass to the southeast is full of withered corpses. Using a ranged weapon allow you to start combat with some distance. Passing looting allows you to skip an encounter with desert wyrms and sand blights responsible for the deaths.
