Maia's Farewell is a letter in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire.

Description[ | ]

Items in italics are quoted directly from the game.

Captain,

I have my gripes with the navy from time to time, but I know we're here to do good work. Wish I could say the same about you.

Some day you might learn what it means to be a part of something important. You'll probably get yourself killed long before that revelation takes hold, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. You have a knack for survival that I admire.

You're more than your busted up castle and twisted soul. You have the chance to be something incredible. The sooner you realize this, the sooner you can get to work on making Eora a better place with the rest of us.

Best of luck,
~Maia Rua

Below the signature the parchment is marked with the indentation of a familiar talon.

Notes[ | ]

  • The missive is only received one in-game hour after first entering the world map, with the message "Maia is no longer aboard the ship. She's left you a missive". Maia will not leave the party immediately when the conditions are met, only after receiving the missive. Talking to her between the condition being met and her leaving the party will only result in the dialogue: Maia simply glares at you.
  • The conditions are:
    • IsGlobalValue(b_Maia_Recruited, EqualTo, 1)
    • IsGlobalValue(b_Maia_Dead, EqualTo, 0)
    • IsGlobalValue(b_Maia_Exit, EqualTo, 2)
    • IsItemCount(81700f52-4614-4c5e-baba-8a1cb1d44f24, LessThan, 1)
  • Blowing up the powderhouse isn't actually a strict requirement, b_Maia_Exit is also set to 2 as soon as you end combat with the guards in Powderhouse - Lower with Maia in the party.
  • If you get rid of the missive (by placing it in a container or body), this will trigger the delivery again since the condition is dependent on whether you have the item or not.
