The Mouth of the Beast is an interactive short story written by narrative designer Paul Kirsch, and published by Obsidian Entertainment on August 28, 2018. It is one in a series of three short stories written as a prelude for Beast of Winter, the first DLC for Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire. All three stories are available on Obsidian's website.
It is written in the style of a "choose your own adventure" story, and is built with Twine, a tool used to create interactive stories with branching dialogue and conditional logic.
Summary[]
The story is told from the first person perspective of Neriscyrlas, the main antagonist for the DLC. The reader "plays out" her attack on the Rimebound Temple in The Dead Floe, long before the Watcher's involvement.
