Pillars of Eternity Wiki

In response to patch v1.3.7.0.1377 to Pillars of Eternity (June 6, 2024), the random loot tables shown on the wiki have been updated. These changes may take time to propegate.

As a result, random loot data is no longer accurate to old versions of the game, including all console ports. We'll be working to provide a mechanism to switch between pre-patch and post-patch loot for console players.

This DLC is a thank you from us to all of you who have supported Pillars of Eternity throughout the years. You're all incredible.

Pillars of Eternity: Deadfire Pack is a free downloadable content pack for Pillars of Eternity, released on November 15, 2017. It serves as a promotional pack for the game's sequel, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, and is bundled with the Definitive Edition of the game.[1][2][3][4]

The Deadfire Pack is the only DLC not included in the console Complete Edition release.

An update to the pack was released on December 20, 2017, bringing significant nerfs to some of the items added to the game.[5]

Overview[ | ]

Items in italics are quoted directly from the game.

Bringing the flavor of the Deadfire Archipelago to the Dyrwood, the Deadfire Pack adds four all-new, soulbound items for players to equip and level up as they play Pillars of Eternity, along with a bevy of pirate outfits and weapons, all inspired by the upcoming Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire.

New content[ | ]

A new merchant has arrived at Anslög's Compass: Ponamu Bird-Scorned sells nine new Deadfire-themed items, four of them soulbound.[2]

Plus a couple of "secret" items.[6]

In addition there are ten new portraits from backers of Pillars of Eternity II, that can be chosen during Character Creation.[2]

"Opt-in telemetry" was added to the game with the simultaneously released patch 3.7 "for people who want to share information".[2]

Trivia[ | ]

  • Because the developers "went a little overboard", in a follow-up patch (see also Bugs below) the defenses for the pack's uniforms were "knocked" from Of Deflection and Of Reflex 20 to 9 only.[5]
  • The "secret items" mentioned on the GOG page do not exist, this line was removed from the Steam store description shortly after launch.

Bugs[ | ]

  • A list of possible bugs from the new items can be found here. However, a further update has been released, as beta on December 19, 2017 and regularly a couple days later, which fixes at least one of the issues.[5]
