What makes the wiki "official"?[]
The Pillars of Eternity Wiki was started on September 20, 2012, when community member VaultAusir (a sysop on English and Polish Wikipedia, and the founder of the Fallout, Witcher, and Wasteland wikis) created a new self-hosted wiki at http://eternitywiki.com/. Recognizing its value, Obsidian acknowledged the wiki as official and linked it prominently on the Project Eternity website at the time.
Seeking a more centralized platform, the wiki later migrated to Gamepedia (then under Curse LLC). The partnership was renewed, and Obsidian embedded a link to the wiki on the Pillars of Eternity website.
While the links to the wiki have since been removed as a result of site redesigns, domain changes, and acquisitions (including Gamepedia's acquisition by Fandom in 2018), Obsidian hasn't rescinded the wiki's official status. A badge at the top of every page lets you know that the Pillars of Eternity Wiki remains the developer-sanctioned source for all things Eora.
