Rod of the Deep Hunter is a rod in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire.
Description[]
This unassuming length of driftwood hums with power and waves of energy seem to break against its surface with the relentless pressure of a tide. The copper is well-preserved despite its age, pulling with an invisible force like the tug of a dowsing rod.
Legend tells that this was once the staff of a nāga tribe who used it to pay ritualistic obeisance to their incarnate deity, the Deep Hunter. Their patron bestowed favor and plenty upon the tribe in exchange for unwavering fealty.
The rod later fell into the hands of Periki, a whaler and future founder of the Watershapers Guild. She used the rod to empower her students with a deeper understanding of the Huana ancestral art. It represents a longstanding covenant, though its purpose has evolved over time.
