Sealed Missive is a letter and quest item in Pillars of Eternity.
Description[ | ]
The scroll case is crafted of darkly-stained oak in the likeness of a thin tower. Along its length, five wax seals adorn the case, each with its own symbol: a small flame, an open palm, a crescent moon, a shining sun and balanced scale.
Acquisition[ | ]
- Elmshore: Given to you by a Dying Monk in the northeastern corner of the map. This starts the quest The Sealed Missive.
Usage[ | ]
When player receives the missive, they may decide either to keep the missive unopened, to break open the missive, or to open the missive and seal it again (with Dexterity 18). This is the only opportunity to do so.
If the missive is broken open, the Open Missive is added to the stash:
The wax seals break easily under your fingers as you pry open the scroll case. You unroll the scroll, seeing an official watermark through the delicate parchment.
If the missive is carefully opened:
With a measured hand, you very slowly massage the wax seals until you feel each seal slowly give way without cracking. When you are done, each seal appears visibly intact, and only a small application of heat is needed to reseal the container and hide any evidence of tampering.
