Stores (also called merchants, traders, and vendors) in Avowed allow you to buy and sell goods in exchange for Currency. Stores can be found in towns an cities throughout the Living Lands, and offer a wide variety of items including items, including consumables, weapons, armor, and more.

Item values[]

Items are bought and sold individually, and have a monetary value which determines how much you pay or receive. Typically, items are sold to vendors at a depreciated value, and are bought at an appreciated value (5x the value of the item). Quest items cannot be sold.

Base value[]

Note: Some items have a different base value than what is listed below.

All items have a base value, which is determined by its item type. This value is multiplied by the vendor rates to determine how much you pay or receive. The sell value is always shown in the inventory interface, the buy value is shown in the store, upgrades, and enchantments interface, and the base value is always shown when sorting by

Quality modifier[]

Note: This information is speculative based on in-game data.

Upgradable equipment, including weapons, armor, and off-hand items, gain value based on their current quality level. This is calculated using:

baseValue + (numUpgrades * qualityCost)

Where numUpgrades is the number of quality upgrades that the item currently has from a base of Common +0/3, and qualityCost is 142.5, which assumedly would change based on some constant parameter such as the game difficulty.

For example for a Fine Wand (+0/3):

  • The base value is 30, which applies to all wands.
  • The number of quality upgrades is 4 (Common +1/3 → Common +2/3 → Common +3/3 → Fine +0/3)

Which results in a sell value of 600:

30 + (4 * 142.5) = 600
