Yngfrith is a character in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire.
Background[]
Yngfrith is the original owner of Modwyr, the soulbound blade found beneath Neketaka. She was born a cipher and was sold by her parents to a master animancer, who was working to refine the art of housing souls and thought she would be an asset. She helped create Modwyr, in an act that horrified her so much that she fled into the night with the blade in hand, vowing to fight abuses of animancy.
She joined Dunryd Row for a time, fighting animancers... Only to learn that she was becoming like the people she hunted. She fled to the Deadfire, trying to put her past and guilt behind her, but it didn't matter. The shame was within her and ate away at her every day she wandered the Archipelago. Eventually, she threw Modwyr away, hoping that with it, the shame would go away. It didn't.
